Discussion Takeaways
- Any child can be well nourished as long as parents trust the journey and feel joy around feeding their children.
- Conflict over food can be jarring and unsettling. It is important to project confidence no matter what we are feeding our children.
- When feeding, strike a balance to nourish your child.
- There shouldn’t be shame in feeding your children food you can afford.
- What is considered “healthy” is in the eyes of the beholder. What “healthy” means to me might be different to you.
- When we look at food from a nutrient perspective, we lose sight of the outer shell where the nutrients shows up in.
- Value children for how they are, what they do, how they feel and not what they look like.
- Your body can be a normal weight, but you can be starving for nutrients on the inside.
